I was trying to make sense of this headline just now : Atheists Wash Florida Road Christians Anointed With Oil
Ooookay ! The background to this as it turns out is, not surprisingly, that some crazy Christians in Florida have been running a campaign called “Polk Under Prayer“, which has involved pouring olive oil over a piece of highway and burying bricks wrapped in Bible psalms beside county roads praying for criminals to become Christians, or somesuch madness.
So the other day, some atheists decided to symbolically wash one of the anointed roads of its olive oil one year later, and some very weird media coverage ensued. Go and read this blog post from one of the people who were actually present, to see what really happened.
