By the way, Daniel Nalliah, George Pell, and Jim Wallace !

Yes, decent people who are not deluded or morally challenged by religious dogma have no trouble seeing that homosexuality is not a sin, but a natural occurrence, and that same-sex marriage is not an abomination, but a self-evident right that should be extended by the state.
But you homophobic bigots are not just liars for Jesus, you are also liars for another reason. See, science is on to you, homophobes!

Abstract

The authors investigated the role of homosexual arousal in exclusively heterosexual men who admitted negative affect toward homosexual individuals. Participants consisted of a group of homophobic men (n = 35) and a group of nonhomophobic men (n = 29); they were assigned to groups on the basis of their scores on the Index of Homophobia (W. W. Hudson & W. A. Ricketts, 1980). The men were exposed to sexually explicit erotic stimuli consisting of heterosexual, male homosexual, and lesbian videotapes, and changes in penile circumference were monitored. They also completed an Aggression Questionnaire (A. H. Buss & M. Perry, 1992). Both groups exhibited increases in penile circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos. Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies.

And mind you, that study came out of Georgia, USA. Not Sweden or Japan. Time to grow up, and fess up, religious homophobes. We don’t care about your projection and reaction formation, but we care about you folks discriminating against a whole subset of the population based on it.

I am curious as to how people were persuaded to take part in this experiment. As a straight male I wouldn’t expect to be aroused by gay porn but until I watched some I don’t think I could be sure. Personally I am pretty confident about my sexuality so the discovery wouldn’t really bother me. I would have though that the homophobes mentioned in the experiment would be terrified to even go there so I’m wondering how they were persuaded to take part?

Of course this stuff only enforces what we know already from cases like the one of George ‘lift my luggage’ Reikers, and numerous others.

  2. HAHAAAAA… ah man, I would so love this study to be true.

  3. LOL ! It obviously tells us close to nothing given the small number of participants, but it’s fun to mess with their heads.
