There are many things that drive me insane about our local Pay TV outfit Foxtel, the fact that they give a platform to the Australian Christian Channel, that they run demented shows like “16 and pregnant” or “Real Housewives of XYZ”, or that they mercilessly screen life insurance and funeral cover ads.
But there has to be one thing that takes the cake here, and that is the TAB advertising with Jaimee Rogers. TABcorp is a billion and a bit in debt, according to this revealing article, it’s being wiped out by online betting companies, so poor old Jaimee the blond vixen has to try and save the day, by supposedly appealing to the 18-35 male segment of the population that is so susceptible to the lure of sports betting and pretty women.
But Jaimee has other horses in the race as well, like hosting TAB updates for horse racing channels, or wearing jewellery.
See, I have nothing against Jaimee Rogers but I loathe what she does, to lure predominantly young males into sports betting, and I hate it when Pay TV packs its ad breaks full with this shit. It’s bad enough when Channel 9 does it.




I’m more offended by that outrageous spelling of what should be ‘Jamie’…
