This was by far the weakest talk during this conference, judging by the reactions of the people who were there with me.I thought so too.I was mainly irked by two things.One was her criticism of people wondering why she is asking for donations on the skeptics guide page, while the JRF now asks 400 bucks for attendance of any TAM event, where the skeptics guide guys are a regular feature.If they don’t pay Rebecca money for appearing in their events, where does the money go then? I’d rather she ask Randi and the JRF for donations.
Two, the ‘Don’t be a Dick” thing, which has been discussed ad nauseam lately.It’s knocking down a strawman, as has been shown a million times, and I’m mainly posting this vid here so you can compare it to Phil Plait’s:

I agree with Rebecca on “pick your fights”, but as to the what to say when you sneeze, as a person who spent a year of his life at the belt at Mercedes, I’m perfectly happy to say to a sneezing person “Shut up”.
