Where is it ? The article, not the G-spot !

The interwebs are full with citations of this “study” by some retired gynecologist in Russia today, allegedly to be found in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, where the man dissected exactly one 83yo female cadaver, and based on his findings tries to tell us now that he has discovered the elusive G-spot, that holy grail of female sexual stimulation, the one-touch button solution for female orgasm that has so often been proposed but never proven to actually exist. The quote is thusly :

Adam Ostrzenski, M.D., Ph.D., of the Institute of Gynecology in St. Petersburg, FL, conducted a stratum-by-stratum anterior vaginal wall dissection on an 83-year-old cadaver. The dissection established the presence of the G-spot, a well-delineated sac structure located on the dorsal (back) perineal membrane, 16.5 mm from the upper part of the urethral meatus, creating a 35 degree angle with the lateral (side) border of the urethra.

Having 3 distinct regions, the G-spot emerged with dimensions of length (L) of 8.1 mm x width (W) 3.6 mm to 1.5 mm x height (H) 0.4 mm. Upon removal of the entire structure with the adjacent margin tissues, the G-spot stretched from 8.1 to 33 mm.

Now, the G-spot is thought to be roughly here :

gspot Where is it ? The article, not the G spot !

You may or may not have noticed a somewhat spongey structure when inserting a digit or penis into a vagina, with the woman in supine position, on its upper wall in the past, that is where the G-spot has previously been thought to be, and personal anecdotal evidence does indeed seem to suggest that this is an area of increased sensitivity, that when stimulated, can yield some rather strong responses.

However, first of all, I can’t find the quoted study anywhere in that journal, sorry, maybe someone can point it out to me. And I am disgusted with all those journalists who are actually quoting this. Seriously people, the guy found some sac of something on one single female cadaver, and that is supposed to be proof that this structure exists in all 3.5 billion female humans on this planet ? I suggest that Dr Ostrzenski gets back to us when he has found the same sac on every one of at least a few hundred more cadavers (never mind that even if he could show that all women have this structure, all his work is still ahead of him of course, to actually prove that this is the G-spot). In the meantime, I wish science journos would stop gushing over this kind of nonsense. It is just too embarrassing.

About the state-sanctioned mass vaginal penetration about to become law in Virginia

I don’t know whether Virginia governor Bob McDonnell will actually sign this silly ‘Personhood” bill into law, but from what I read he really means it with regards to the bill requiring pregnant women to have an ultrasound scan before any abortion may take place, while also forcing medical staff to make a note in the woman’s medical record as to whether she made herself readily available to listen to the heartbeat or look at the fetus on the ultrasound images.
The truly outrageous, and really hard to believe detail about this bill is that because most abortions take place up to 12 weeks into a pregnancy, to obtain proper ultrasould images, a transvaginal scan is required. The device for transvaginal ultrasound looks like this :

Apart from the fact that this is disrespectful to women’s reproductive and bodily autonomy (one can not imagine this bill being passed requiring men to have a rectal probe exam before a vasectomy), it surely must be illegal to force women to be penetrated vaginally, and that’s not even mentioning that this procedure is medically unneccesary, and has not been shown to alter women’s decisions.
I have got to say, this reminds me of forced medical procedures during a certain dark age of the 20th century. It’s unbelievable. The Christian War on Women is in full swing.

Vagina Dialogue, Melbourne style

Catherine Deveny has teamed up with Cyndi Darnell, “sex therapist, sex educator, sexologist” and the founder of Pleasure Salon Melbourne, for a series of podcasts on topics such as masturbation, sex toys, porn, polyamory and anal sex. I just listened to the first of 6 podcast recordings, and it’s good fun. Here is the link to the mp3, if you want to listen in. You might learn something !
